It's been a while since my last update and that is due in large part to the skirt dyeing process, which is taking longer than anticipated and more effort as well. In order to speed up the process, I took on the job of dyeing the indigo skirts which amounted to over 50 skirts at my home studio.

After a week in Asheville, Morganton, and Charleston, I'm back in Savannah enjoying this amazing early fall weather. Months of rainy gray days finally gave way to blue skies and cooler temperatures this week -- woohoo! I can finally spend some quality time outside again, and I couldn't be happier because -- it's Bicycle Wrap Skirt season!

We made a visit to our production facility in NC last week where we met with the great folks who will be sewing our skirts. It is important for us to keep production close to home so that we can visit regularly and develop a strong relationship with the people who will be making our products. Our foremost goal was to create a great product, but it's of the utmost importance to make sure our products are made as sustainably and ethically as possible.

I officially started filling out my KickStarter project this week!!! While I don't feel quite ready (will I ever?), One Spark Festival was the push I needed. I realized after speaking with 1500+ people over the course of the festival, that while I may only be designing a skirt, this is an item that appeals to all ages, races, cultures, and size - that's exciting! The world is ready for the skirt, and the skirt is almost ready for its debut.
